List of 12 Countries Granted Visa Exemption by Vietnam Until 2028
Vietnam has announced an extended visa waiver program for citizens of twelve nations, effective from March 15, 2025, through March 14, 2028. This policy encompasses individuals from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
The newly implemented regulation grants these citizens a 45-day visa exemption from their entry date, regardless of passport type or travel purpose, provided they meet all other legal entry requirements of Vietnam. The possibility of extending this visa exemption policy will be evaluated in accordance with Vietnamese law.
In addition to this extended waiver, Vietnam has also initiated a separate visa exemption for tourists from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland, valid from March 1 to December 31, 2025.
Furthermore, Vietnam has expanded its e-visa program to include citizens of 80 countries since July 1, 2020. This program facilitates entry through eight international airports, 16 land border crossings, and 13 seaports. The full list of eligible countries includes: Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Iceland, Austria, Poland, Belarus, Belgium, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Canada, Qatar, Germany, Chile, Colombia, India, Czech Republic, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Croatia, Cuba, Denmark, Cyprus, Timor Leste, Estonia, Georgia, Republic of Korea, United States of America, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Russia, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Micronesia, Malta, Macedonia, Mexico, Myanmar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nauru, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Palau, Panama, Finland, France, Fiji, Philippines, Marshall Islands, Salomons Islands, Romania, Western Samoa, San Marino, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, China (including Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR passport holders, excluding Chinese e-passport holders), Uruguay, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
