Hung King Temple
The Historical Site of the Hung Kings Temple is located in Co Tich Hamlet, Hy Cuong Commune, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province. It is where the Hung Kings, the Ancestors of the Vietnamese people, are worshipped for their contributions to the nation's foundation. Since ancient times, this area has been the central region of Van Lang, situated between two rivers like two giant natural ramparts surrounding the ancient capital of the Hung Kings. To the east are ranges of medium-height mountains. The region features numerous rivers, lakes, hills, and fertile fields enriched by sedimentation from three converging rivers, facilitating both settled agriculture and defensive retreats during tribal conflicts.
The Hung Kings Temple is the focal point of the era of the Hung Kings. The temples dedicated to the Hung Kings are situated on Nghia Linh Mountain (also known locally as Mount Ca or by other names such as Hung Mountain or Hy Cuong Mountain), standing 175 meters above sea level. Previously, this area was covered with tropical rainforests. Today, Mount Nghia Linh retains the appearance of a natural forest with multiple generations of vegetation, including 150 species of herbs belonging to 35 families. Among them are several large ancient trees such as banyan, pine, juniper, and fir.
