Van Don

Located in the southeast of Quang Ninh province, Van Don island district boasts over 600 islands large and small, covering nearly 2,200 km2 in total area. Of this, approximately 580 km2 is land area, with the remainder being sea area formed by the Kep Bao and Van Hai island chains. Serving as the gateway to the perilous sea and shielding Bai Tu Long Bay offshore, Van Don holds a strategic position in the nation's construction and defense efforts. It is also one of the cradles of Halong culture.

Van Don island district features numerous limestone islands and beautiful caves, connected to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The coastal islands along the Van Hai island chain boast beautiful beaches, abundant seafood, a pleasant climate, and historical-cultural relics, making them highly promising for the development of tourism services.
