Tam Dao
Tam Dao town is a famous tourist destination in Vinh Phuc province, located about 80 km from Hanoi City. Tam Dao is situated at an altitude of over 900 meters above sea level, enjoying a cool climate year-round. The name "Tam Dao" literally means "Three Peaks" as there are three prominent mountains, namely Thach Ban, Thien Thi, and Phu Nghia, which can be seen from Hanoi on clear days. On January 25th, Tam Dao was officially recognized as a National Tourist Area.
Visitors can experience four distinct seasons in a single day, regardless of the time of year. Tam Dao was a favored summer retreat for the French in the past. Today, Tam Dao boasts stunning mountainous landscapes and numerous new European-style structures, making it a perfect getaway for city dwellers seeking a weekend escape.
